Hydrogen growth market: SERTO joins Archigas

SERTO AG joins Archigas as a shareholder. For the new shareholder, the official investment in the H2 sensor expert from Rüsselsheim in Germany is the logical next step in a trusting collaboration over the past few years. For SERTO, the timing is perfect to take the joint commitment to the development of H2 for the energy transition and economic success to a new level.

With SERTO AG's investment in Archigas and the intensified partnership, two recognised premium providers are bringing together the best of ‘Swiss made’ and ‘Made in Germany’. The screw connection manufacturer and system specialist from Frauenfeld with hydrogen expertise and the highly regarded H2 measurement pioneers from the Rhine-Main region have a lot in common.

Strong innovative spirit

‘Expertise and a spirit of innovation characterise Archigas to a high degree. We can identify perfectly with these characteristics. For this reason, and in view of the interesting growth market associated with hydrogen, we have decided to invest with complete conviction,’ emphasises Kurt Bolliger, CFO of the SERTO Group. And CEO Andreas Mühlthaler emphasises: ‘Archigas has started from pole position, so to speak, with its new solutions for the important H2 measurement. We are known for never standing still, so we are happy to be at the forefront and look forward to this rare opportunity.’

Award-winning sensor technology

With its unique and award-winning sensor technology, Archigas has created an innovation that is characterised by outstanding precision, high reaction speed, stability and even moisture resistance as well as particularly compact dimensions. On this basis, the company offers gas measuring devices in various designs, including for H2 generation through electrolysis, for incoming quality control and gas purity testing, as well as for controlling and monitoring gas mixtures.

Pooling expertise and utilising synergies

‘The young company has already achieved impressive things in the field of microsensor technology for gas analysis. We have followed Archigas' development closely from the very beginning. An investment at this point in time is the logical step,’ confirms CTO Norbert Kern. And COO Frederik Hombach adds: ‘We are delighted with the investment at this point in time. This allows us to pool our expertise and integrate SERTO's industrial competence. We are supporting Archigas in the process of advanced industrialisation, to which we are contributing our profound knowledge of state-of-the-art production technologies and the application of lean management methods. This synergy leads to efficient production processes and enables scalability that ensures international quality standards.’

Microsensors in shape

Archigas also recognises the enormous potential of increased collaboration with the new shareholder. ‘Our solutions for H2 detection are literally closely linked to SERTO. As a particularly experienced and committed expert in its field, the company virtually moulds our microsensor technology for gas analysis. In him, we have found a partner with a high level of technical and technological expertise, who is also forward-thinking and, last but not least, approachable on a personal level,’ say Vladimir Barskyi and Illya Kaufman. The two founders and managing directors are optimistic about the future: ‘We see the fact that SERTO is investing in Archigas not only as a great opportunity, but also as a privilege. We are very much looking forward to the future together.’
