Job description

Training as a saleswoman or a salesman involves administrative and organisational duties. Salespeople pass through various departments and predominantly work on the computer. For the purposes of communicating via e-mail or telephone, a good command of German and knowledge of foreign languages are required. The course lasts 3 years and is divided into 3 levels (profiles): B profile (basic training), E profile (extended basic training) and M profile (extended basic training with a vocational qualification).

What we require from you

You are interested in commercial activities, have a keen perception, enjoy working on the computer and are well-spoken. Reliability, approachability and a sense of responsibility are also some of your qualities.

SERTO expects you to have completed your compulsory education with good results in the core subjects (maths, D, E and F levels) and to be able to touch-type.

Education at SERTO

SERTO can offer varied, practical training in a manufacturing company in the machine industry. Please note that we train only apprentices with an E or an M profile.


During your training, you will get to know the Reception, Administration, HR, Purchasing, Accounting, Sales and Product Management departments. You will perform a wide range of duties, write e-mails and reports, accept orders and record projects, process invoices and organise travel. In every department, you will be accompanied by experienced practical mentors, all of whom are qualified vocational trainers.


Training typically goes like this:

1st year of training = Reception, Administration, Purchasing

2nd year of training = Finance, HR, Sales for Switzerland

3rd year = Export Sales, Marketing & Project Management

Vocational college

You will attend vocational college for two days a week during your first and second year in training. During your third year, you will attend for one or two days a week, depending on your profile: E profiles will attend for one day and M profiles will attend for two days a week.

You will also participate in industry courses for an average of 5 days per academic year, which will expand your vocational training.
